10. For your safety

Your safety comes first!
Red light technology is safe to use. Additionally, when our devices are assembled and used correctly, the risk of injury should be close to zero. There are a few other things to consider when using our devices. Use of all Luminousred devices in any way other than those described in this manual void the warranty and could result in injury. The following safety measures are for both the Pro Series, as well as the Essential line. Stay safe!

Correct Use of the device

The device is either placed on a surface using the provided stand or hung vertically using the provided hanging kit. The users plug the device into the power outlet (120-240V) of their specific region, and switches on the device using the power switch on the back of the device. The user ensures that the two smaller control switches on the back of the device are switched to position II, which allows for control of the device through the control panel on the top (called “the brain”). Facing the front of the device, the user can set a timer, choose the preferred wavelength-mixture (there are three modes: red light only (660nm); near-infrared light only (850nm); red & near-infrared combined (660+850nm)), and start/pause the regimen. After the device is set, the user stands/sits/lays (skin exposed) in front of the device at roughly 6” distance, puts on the provided eye goggles (blackout goggles) and presses the start button to start the session. Should the user feel any adverse effects during usage (discomfort, dizziness, tissue warming up), the user can abort the session at any time. After the timer ends the session (this is usually within 01-20min) the light automatically switches off. The user then switches off the main power switch and unplugs the device from the power plug, leaving it standing/hanging in a secure place for the next session.

Where not to use Luminoured devices

The devices are not built to withstand hot or humid climates. This includes shower, bathtubs, saunas of any kind. The device is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Should the user have a diagnosed illness, the product is to be used at their own risk and under supervision of a medical professional. The device is intended for use of adults above the age of 21 years, and whose physical conditions is good and their mental status stable. Parents are responsible for their children and their usage, handling, and general storage of the device within a household. The device is not intended to be used by pregnant women. Should the user be pregnant, the product is to be used at their own risk and under supervision of a medical professional. If the device is being used outside of the suggested placement and correct use described above, the product is to be used at their own risk. Sensitive body parts (such as eyes, testicles) should be properly protected from the emitted light during usage. Should the user expose sensitive body parts to the light, the device is to be used at their own risk and under supervision of a medical professional.

Physical Environmental Conditions

Note: This section should describe possible physical parameters that can have a negative impact on the device. The list can also be supplemented with further parameters. Either permissible limit values can be specified immediately for the individual parameters, or a reference is made to another document where the limit values are specified later.
